DOT Inspections in
Augusta & Savannah, GA

An out-of-service order costs far more than an inspection. We run thorough FMCSA periodic inspections, document everything, and — unlike inspection-only lanes — repair any defect we find on the same visit.

Overview

DOT Inspection

Federal law requires every commercial motor vehicle to pass a periodic (annual) inspection under 49 CFR 396.17. Our inspectors work through the full checklist: brake systems and air lines, steering components, suspension, frame, tires and wheels, coupling devices, lighting, exhaust, and windshield equipment. Nothing is pencil-whipped if a component is marginal, you’ll know about it before a roadside officer finds it.

What sets us apart is what happens when something fails. Because we’re a full-service repair shop, defects don’t mean a second appointment somewhere else: brakes get adjusted, lights get rewired, and cracked hoses get replaced the same day whenever parts allow. You leave with the sticker and the paperwork, not a punch list.

FAQ

Mobile Repair Questions

How often does my truck need a DOT inspection?

Every commercial motor vehicle needs a periodic inspection at least once every 12 months under FMCSA rules. Many fleets align it with a PM service we can do both in one visit.

The full federal checklist: brakes, air system, steering, suspension, frame, coupling devices, tires and wheels, lighting, exhaust, and glass. Critical items are measured to spec, not glanced at.

We quote the defects on the spot and repair them the same visit whenever possible, then complete the inspection. You don’t leave with a list you leave road-legal.

Yes. We batch-schedule fleet inspections and can combine them with PM intervals so units cycle through with minimal downtime.
