Heavy-Duty Truck Repairs

Truck Transmission & Driveline
Repair in Augusta & Savannah, GA

Slipping, grinding, or stuck in gear? We repair manual, automated manual, and Allison automatic transmissions — plus every driveline component between the flywheel and the wheels.

System Overview

Transmission & Driveline

Heavy-truck drivelines take relentless punishment, and small symptoms become expensive quickly: a chattering clutch tears up a flywheel, a dry U-joint takes out a driveshaft, and a whining differential grenades on a grade. Our technicians diagnose the noise or behavior first with proper road testing and, on AMTs, dealer-level scan data so you only pay for the repair the truck needs.

We service Eaton Fuller manuals and UltraShift/Endurant automated boxes, Allison automatics, and Detroit DT12 transmissions, along with clutch replacement and adjustment, driveshaft and U-joint repair, center bearings, and differential and power divider work. Repairs use quality components torqued and set to OEM procedure, protecting the parts downstream of the fix.

Signs You Need This Repair

Catching it early keeps a small fix from becoming a major rebuild.

01

Slipping or Hard Shifting

RPM climbing without speed, gears grinding, or an AMT hunting between gears catch it before it’s a rebuild.

02

Driveline Vibration

A vibration that changes with road speed (not RPM) usually points to U-joints, driveshaft balance, or a center bearing.

03

Whining or Clunking

Differential whine under load or a clunk on throttle change means wear that only gets more expensive with miles.

FAQ

Engine Repair & Rebuild
Questions

Do you repair automated manual transmissions?

Yes Eaton UltraShift and Endurant, Detroit DT12, and Volvo I-Shift units, with the dealer-level software needed to diagnose and calibrate them properly.

They share symptoms, which is why we road-test and inspect before quoting. You get a diagnosis first not a guess that turns into a bigger invoice mid-job.

Often, yes. We quote rebuild versus replacement honestly, factoring the unit’s condition, parts availability, and your downtime.
Typically one to two shop days depending on the truck and parts availability. We’ll give you a firm timeline with the quote.
